Flu Cases – Precautions to protect transmission
The BSol ICB Infection Prevention and Control team has been monitoring the rate if flu cases throughout winter so far. Due to sustained increases locally, regionally and nationally, and rising transmission rates within our community we have been asked to ensure universal masking with immediate effect, for both staff and patients unless clinically inappropriate. Masks will be made available at the entrance to the surgery and masks should be warn for the duration of your visit. Our staff will be doing the same.
This recommendation is based on information and advice from UKHSA, NHS England and data from local public health teams and acute providers regarding current levels of respiratory illness and has not been take lightly.
If you are eligible, and have not yet had your flu vaccine, now would be a great time to book it.
This situation will be reviewed frequently and we will look to step down this advice as soon as data suggests this would be appropriate.
We thank you for your cooperation.
